About me

Hi!  I’m Emily and I’m a wanna-be mom!  I started this blog when my husband and I were still trying to conceive (ttc) every freakin month. But, times have changed.  I no longer track my temperature, pee on sticks, or analyze my cervical mucus.  I’m infertile, the doctors say.  Completely and utterly infertile.

After 10 months of trying, the hubs and I were frustrated enough to seek help from a specialist.  It only took two week for our problem to be uncovered.  My tubes are blocked.  Completely and utterly blocked. My eggs are not able to pass through my fallopian tubes, nor is the hubby’s sperm able to reach my eggs.  This is irreversible and our only shot at conception is through IVF.

We live in Colorado and started seeing Dr. Surrey at Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM) in January 2013.  We are lucky in that we live down the street from one of the best fertility clinics in the country.

Although our infertility journey has been an incredibly emotional, difficult, and frustrating one, we have been very lucky.  We got pregnant on our first try in May 2013 and we had a healthy baby boy in January 2014.

It is now a year later – February 2015 – and we are starting our next round of IVF.

This blog has become one focused not just on infertility, but on becoming a new mother and I would love for you to join me on my journeys!

  1. I love Dr. Surrey! Due to finances and prior connections in Texas, I will be trying IVF with a Houston doctor this month. However, if a second try is needed, I really hope that a miracle happens and I’m able to see Dr. Surrey again.

  2. Hi! I live in CA and Dr. Surrey is also my doctor. We had are embryo transfers the same day and I am pregnant as well. We might have seen each other upstairs! LOL. Our babies are scheduled to be born on the same day. Our pregnancies to date have been quite similar. I literally was reading about my own experience! What a coincidence that I came across your blog. All the best to you and your “blueberry”!

  3. Just found your blog and am so happy you got your little one. I am also infertile and 35 and just went thru a known egg donor cycle. My beta is monday. Im so nervous.

    • Thank you! And what a nerve-wracking time for you! I will be sending you all the sticky vibes I can! I’d love to get an update from you after Monday. Enjoy you’re weekend…it might be your last before being officially pregnant!!!
